How to choose a broker
A simple framework you can reuse whether you trade FX, equities or crypto. Educational content only - not a personal recommendation.
1. Define the market
FX majors, EU/US equities, or crypto spot/CFDs need different licences, platforms and risk controls. Start from the asset, not the bonus.
2. Verify regulation
Note the legal entity name and check it on the regulator register. Marketing sites and app stores are not proof of licence.
3. Cost the real spread
Add spread + commission + overnight fees. Run a tiny live trade to see fill quality before committing size.
4. Test money movement
Deposit and withdraw a small amount. Slow or blocked withdrawals are a red flag.
5. Match tools to your process
If you use OpenBook signals, you still need a broker that can execute your style (market/limit, mobile, API). Process first, platform second.
